Nothing to do with political scandal

August 8, 2008

My blog reached a new echelon today- I received over 181 hits!

You know I love it. I believe my feelings would be best described via the image below. Thanks to all for reading and enjoying!

It’s like the frickin’ Twilight Zone

August 8, 2008

What is going on in the world?

Check out these headlines:

John Edwardsadmits to having an extramarital affair- of which I am not only pissed off, I am horribly disappointed as I genuinely admired his advocacy for improving poverty, and his family’s perseverance with his wife’s breast cancer battles.
Jeez, it is so dang cliche!!! The politician and the affair.

Joel Osteen’s wife assaulted a flight attendant (alledgedly). I’m not 100%, but I can’t imagine God would be too happy to hear about this. Doesn’t sound like Victoria is living her ‘best life now.’

I know I am taking humorous cracks at these stories, but I’m also rather disturbed by all of it. These people have families- CHILDREN. This is about so much more than acting out or getting caught…

Stephenie Meyer Interview with LA Times- Fabulous!

August 8, 2008

I LOVE LOVE LOVE learning new things about the Twilight book series. The LA Times has a great piece on Stephenie Meyer and her thoughts on Breaking Dawn. WARNING- if you have not read Breaking Dawn, or the Twilight series at all, spoilers await if you click here. I suggest just running out to your local Borders right now and buying all Stephenie Meyer books in the sight- just look for cryptic black and red book covers.

I also adore how Stephenie derrives inspiration from music- she has some great comments on what songs move her most with corresponding sections of the books- happy reading!

Anyone else still sad about Favre???

August 8, 2008

I am. I can’t get over it, and I feel disgusted when I see pictures of him holding up a Jets jersey. It’s like seeing a McDonald’s sign only the golden arches are now blue. WTF?

I am a die hard Bears fan and always have been. I have even performed at a Bears half time show at Soldier Field (this is probably my favorite claim-to-fame). While I have never been a Green Bay fan (and never will be- don’t get the wrong idea), I think all can agree that everyone in this world thinks highly of Brett Favre- his character, sportsmanship, and talent are the stuff of legends (which he clearly is).

Green Bay has worshipped this athlete and nurtured his career- treating him like their best friend or favorite cousin- being protective of his mishaps, and cheering loudly and slapping high fives during his record breaking seasons. Do the Jets fans have this passion, this dedicated loyalty within themselves, to extend the same courtesy to their new quarterback?

Time will tell…

Each day, I’m amazed

Let the games begin, people!

Let the games begin, people!

I still am shocked to see new people linking up to my blog, reading what I spout, and commenting with their thoughts. It’s so unbelievably cool- Fitz is astounded that people I don’t even know would check my little piece of verbiage each day, looking to see what’s new or just plain ridiculous (mostly the latter actually). I won’t lie, it’s a pretty awesome feeling.

Okay, enough of this emotional babbling. It’s Friday and time to put our tap shoes and have some fun.

The Olympics have begun! This beautiful photo found it’s way into my life here. So exciting, I can’t wait to check out the opening ceremony on tv this evening! I know everyone is going crazy over Michael Phelps, and I am too, however I’m super psyched for Dara Torres (41-year-old swimmer competing in her 5th Olympic games!) and Lolo Jones (super fast track star with super dope name).
