Bill Murray to parachute in from heavens above

August 14, 2008

Yes, you read that correctly. Bill Frickin’ Murray is going to PARACHUTE into the Air & Water Show (tandem of course) in Chicago this weekend! AMAZING! All day long I’m hearing the Blue Angels zoom around the Loop practicing- all of the city is getting pumped.

What I find doubly exciting is the fact that Florence Henderson (from the Brady Bunch- you know you love it) will be singing the national anthem to kick off the events. Does it get any better than this??!! I think not.

For more details, consult my friend, the Trib.

A little disturbed and romantic- just like me!

August 14, 2008

I just bought a necklace from Dogeared, a cute little jewelry website. I’d been looking for a skull necklace for awhile now. No, not something dark and morbid, just slightly dark and morbid- this necklace has a love charm, a garnet stone, and the skull has hearts for eyes. It indicates, “I’m sweet and simple but a little dark and disturbed.”

Just the message I was going for!

I also kind of want the skull canvas bag.

Creepy isn't it?

I love the creepy factor

Quote of the Day

August 14, 2008

“Here’s one of the very few generalizations I believe unconditionally: There is not one useful thing we can do that we don’t do better when we’re relaxed.”

(Martha Beck)

Makes sense right? I saw this quote on Oprah’s website and it’s a constant reminder for me to not get so worked up over things. Life should be more simple.

New records for athletes and blogs alike!

August 14, 2008

Hmmm…I think it had something to do with my postings on Shawn Johnson and Michael Phelps, but yesterday my blog got the most hits ever! WOOHOO!

Naturally, I think this is downright splendid. I’m not surprised though- with everyone getting Olympic fever, they are dying to know what’s happening with Johnson and Phelps from moment to moment.

So here you go!

Here is a great article on Shawn in her quest for an individual medal. Also, the NY Times ran an interesting piece on Phelps, comparing his swimming to career to the success of other well-known Olympic athletes.
