Not bad. Not bad at all.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Another milestone- 6,000 total hits! I love it!!!

In commemorating the brilliance that is this moment, I thought about commissioning a painting…

I call it 'celebration'

My Brother, the solo diner

An insanely amazing photo

An insanely amazing photo

It’s my brother Ryan’s 30th birthday on Sunday. Here’s a few things you should know about him:

1. Enjoys olives, wine, mustard, and Jean Claude Van-Damme films
2. Travels all the time for work, and gets defensive when I make fun of him for eating at restaurants alone (think “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”)
3. As a 12-year-old, I didn’t know there was anything wrong with wearing tight rolled jeans (and Keds) until my brother started asking me if I was waiting for a flood. My mom actually had to explain what he meant by that comment.

That being said, my brother is a fine human being and his personality has brought a lot of humor and fun into my life- along with fabulous sister-in-law, a niece, and a nephew. Love you so much- Happy Birthday Ryan!

P.S. The above photo is kind of old, but it’s one of my all-time favorites of Ryan with his kiddos.

An ethereal moment

For those that don’t know what being ethereal is all about, check on the “About Me” tab up top. I feel it’s a loose definition of my thoughts and imagination transpired in this blog. And just to illustrate that which is ethereal to me…here are some ethereal moments for you to enjoy. Happy Friday!

Oops!!!

August 15, 2008

As I was getting on the el train this morning, I looked down at my hand and noticed that I forgot to put on my engagement ring- yikes! Due to some deadlines I had waiting for me at the office, I didn’t have time to run back home and get it.

As I look at my left hand now, I can’t help but think how weird it feels not to have it on. Not to mention the paranoia in the back of my head that one of my co-workers will notice that I’m not wearing a ring and raise an eyebrow in thinking that my wedding has been called off or something. Then I’ll have to get all defensive and say that I forgot my ring and that this sort of thing happens, and then they’ll give me some weird glance as if to insinuate, “Oh SURE you did…”

It’s my own fault- I was running around my house this morning, stressing over all the things I need to get done in anticipation of the weekend. I didn’t notice until it was too late. Oops- honest mistake, I promise! I am still in love, engaged, and planning a wedding!!!

I fell asleep!

Bright Stars

Bright Stars

The women’s all-around gymnastic competition was in full swing last night and I totally crashed on the coush- I fell asleep before I could see who medaled! I woke up this morning so frustrated but fortunately Fitz filled me in on what I missed- shockingly, he actually stayed awake and watched.

How amazing are Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson?! The two of them are so different (the graceful ballerina versus the dynamic powerhouse) but equally talented. Bela Karoli and Bob Costas were going berserk upon watching them perform, and I don’t totally blame them! It was an exciting moment for the U.S., and of course, for IOWA!!!
