I’m in color!!! YAY!!! I think the slick header it adds a certain something…like….uh..well…color, I guess.
After 700 hits today…I’m speechless, thrilled, high-fiving, and heel-clicking like crazy. Thanks for stopping by, shaking out your ethereal addictions, and posting your thoughts. It’s one small step for Kelly, and one giant leap for Blog-kind.
Since today was a ultra-dope day, I thought I’d share something ultra-dope: this is where I’m going to get married!

- It’s beyond…anything I could have imagined
It’s a vineyard in Santa Rosa, California! Beautiful right? It’s difficult not to feel completely one with nature in this setting.
I’m very cautious about the information I give out regarding my wedding because I think the element of surprise is so important. So enjoy this little appetizer!

As you may already know, I am quite the political enthusiast. Or at least…I like to add a humorous undertone to my serious thoughts about political involvement. That being said, it’s being reported that Barack Obama will announce his running mate very soon, and said person will begin campaigning with him this weekend.
We all know that John Edwards shouldn’t be waiting by the phone. But who should? Sure, there are lots of speculative running mates out there, but how about a few that perhaps you haven’t thought of…
1. Stephenie Meyer- Mormon housewife/ author of addicting Twilight series; excellent speech writing skills; passionate about liberal arts
2. Michael Douglas- played the President in movies and pulled it off pretty convincingly. Bonus: Catherine Zeta-Jones.
3. Chicago Cubs- an unlikely choice, I know. But they are a team beloved by all (back off Cardinal fans) and their uniforms are red, white, and blue. Think Old Style beer and hot dogs in the White House full time.

7,000 hits? Where the H did this come from?! I still hadn’t fully processed the fact that my blog had reached 6,000 not even a week ago. I love it!!! HAAAAAAAAA!!! (insert crazy laugh of happiness)

A hearty chuckle

Happy HAPPY Happy HAPPY
UPDATE: Now that I take a closer look at my photo, doesn’t it seem as though I have a mullet? Business in the front…party in the back…good times all around, I guess!
UPDATE #2: Apparently, I’m not one for details. After an even closer look at my photo, I realize there is something green to the right of me that is eerily glowing…creepy. I dig it.

So yesterday, I revealed the heartbreaking results of the women’s 100 meter hurdles- my Iowa girl, Lolo Jones, failed to medal in said event and in dramatic fashion, finished in 7th place. It was one thing to READ about this on CNN as the event happened live, but WOW it was even more shocking to watch it late last night…especially when the tv cameras panned to her mother and sister in the crowd, cheering her on only to be left stunned and surprised at the outcome. I wanted to burst into tears along with them- the world is weeping with Lolo right now. All I can say is that she is a tremendous athlete and I certainly hope she’ll be back in London 2012. Commentators suggest that due to her age (she is 26), that is unlikely that she will continue to compete. I say BRING THE GOODS, Lolo- make it happen.
Moving on to gymnastics…my god, I stayed up so late last night but it was SO worth it. One of the coolest events in these Olympics games is the men’s high bar routines. It was nearing 11:30p.m. when American Jonathan Horton stepped up to perform and WOW…he put on a show!!!!
. ..and grabbed a silver medal! I wanted to jump up and down on my bed and scream- it was exhilarating! The mens gymnastics team has overcome so many hurdles this year and they were not favored to do well once their top performers got injured. It just goes to show…sometimes the impossible simply becomes…possible.
I love it!

A toast to accomplishments and perseverance…
