Struggling with my nerd conversion

“Where did all of this insanity come from?!”

Just recently Fitz held a mock intervention, wondering where all of my recent and surprising nerd-like qualities originated from. I think it was the combination of my vampire fixation, skull necklaces, starting a club with my co-workers regarding centaurs, and showing up to book stores at midnight. The signs were everywhere…

Back to my point- here is where it all originates. Yes, I am very much a girl’s girl. I love the whole deal with makeup, shoes, handbags, fashion, nailpolish, jewelry, etc. BUT…if you know me well, then you are aware that I spend the entire year looking forward to Halloween- my all time favorite holiday. I love dressing up in costume, watching horror movies, and reading scary books. I make a special ’spook-tacular’ dinner for Fitz and drink wine out of skull chalices (not kidding, April can attest to this, they sit right next to her margarita glasses in our kitchen).

Perhaps I have surpressed this part of my personality for awhile because I haven’t taken interest in anything strong enough to foster a full-on infatuation…until the Twilight series, that is. These books combine all that I love- a scary, suspense-filled story with a love triangle twist, all from the perspective of a girl.

I am well aware that I used to be a normal person until these books let loose my inner-nerd, now exposed for all the world to see. I find myself wondering if I should go to Comic-Con next year, or if I need to take up a vision problem and get glasses. The nerd possibilities are endless, and I’m embracing them all.

(chanting) NERDS! NERDS! NERDS!
