So I came across photos that appear to be taken recently, pertaining to the Twilight movie re-shoots…and all I have to say is…COMO WHAT???? (translation: what WHAT?!!)
Pictured below are the characters of Emmett (Kellan Lutz) and Rosalie (Nikki Reed). Pictured below them is Edward Cullen (Rob Pattinson). I mean…what the H is going on here?!! I don’t recall ANY scene from the books that would necessitate such…historical costumes reminiscent of a 1920’s equestrian championship. Something here just doesn’t seem right! Am I overreacting?
These re-shoots better be amazing because I am skeptical about these outfits, even though I know they likely pertain to the back stories of the Cullens. In case you didn’t notice, I am obscenely protective of this movie…in a society where the movie never lives up to the book (DaVinci Code, The Firm, The Fugitive, The Notebook), my nerves are on a live wire when it comes to re-creating a fantasy vampire world that I just so happen to be obsessed with.
However, I have trust in Catherine Hardwicke (director, Twilight movie), because she seems to be one of those insanely brilliant, creative visionaries…who also might be a little insane as well. I like that combo.

It’s gotta be a flashback or two, possibly it’s Bella learning about how they became vampires. There are also scenes with James and company that aren’t in the book. There’s bound to be some of that. When sci-fi/fantasy gets adapted to film this is what happens, things get added, things get cut. They need devices to help create a mood, or to better explain something for the average viewer, or to combine things in a way that shortens the story. It’s all part of the excitement of seeing how your new favorite book gets made into a film. You want it to happen so you can see it with your own eyes, but then it’s never going to be how you pictured it so do you really want it? Geek Anxiety.

Hey, I think they’re doing a flashback of the treaty being made. Weren’t there some pictures with indians as well? And why are you complaining? The picture of Robert made me hyperventilate, and I couldn’t speak for an hour! Squeeee!

Yes, this was the part when Bella was talking with Jacob on the beach and he was explaining the “Cold One’s”. It showed the 4 vampires Carlisle, Esme, Edward and Rosalie” Those were the 4 who initially made the treaty.
Also, there are deleted scenes that will be placed on the DVD release that we can now pre-order. Release date is scheduled as March 21, 2009
